1. What data do we collect?

Through this website’s forms (contact, press, volunteering, newsletter) we may collect: name, surname, email address and, where applicable, the content of the message you send us. We also collect browsing data on an anonymous or pseudonymised basis through analytics cookies (see our Cookie Policy).

2. What do we use your data for?

To reply to your contact, press or volunteering enquiries.
To send you news about the “Save the Iberian Orca” project, only if you have voluntarily subscribed.
To analyse how the website is used, for statistical purposes (Google Analytics).

3. What is the legal basis for processing?

The legal basis is the consent you give when filling in and submitting each form, or when accepting cookies through the consent banner.

4. How long do we keep your data?

Data is kept for as long as there is a mutual interest in doing so (for example, while you remain subscribed to the newsletter) or until you ask us to delete it, and in any case for as long as required by law.

5. Who will your data be shared with?

We do not share data with third parties except where legally required. Some data may be processed by suppliers providing technical services to the website (hosting, Google Analytics), who act as data processors under contract in accordance with the GDPR. We are not currently using a newsletter service; we are considering Mailchimp for the future, and this policy will be updated to name it once it is in use. WeWhale and Iberian Orca Guardians may share press and volunteering contact details internally, strictly for the joint management of the “Save the Iberian Orca” project.

6. International transfers

Some providers (for example, Google Analytics, YouTube) may involve transfers of data outside the European Economic Area, covered by the safeguards set out in the GDPR (standard contractual clauses or other adequacy decisions).

7. What are your rights?

Anyone has the right to access, rectify and delete their data, and to request the restriction, objection to, or portability of processing, by writing to info@wewhale.org, stating the right they wish to exercise and enclosing a copy of a document proving their identity. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, www.aepd.es) if you believe processing does not comply with the applicable rules.

8. Children

This website is not directed at children under the age of 14. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor without the consent of their parents or guardians, we will delete it.

9. Security measures

We apply the technical and organisational measures necessary to keep data secure and to prevent it being altered, lost or accessed without authorisation.
